Turners’ shop on Blackett Street In Newcastle May 1953.

These fantastic images of Newcastle upon Tyne taken in the 1950s and 60s were taken by employees of Turners’s Ltd. This popular photographic business stemmed from when Jack Turner, who ran a chemist shop, made the bold move to start selling cameras in 1932. Turners, by all accounts, had an excellent reputation and were commissioned by local businesses to take photos of their products and premises.

It had shops on Pink Lane, Eldon Square, Blackett Street and Clayton Street in Newcastle, as well as branches in Whitley Bay, South Shields and Darlington. Despite its relative success and popularity in the North East of England, Turners began to scale down its services in the 1980s and gradually began closing its stores.

By 1988, all its shops and photographic labs had gone.

This is what Newcastle looked like in the 1980s and The photo with all the people on the left hand side is Newcastle in The Town in 1985 a year before I was born. These are some of the really old shops from back then in those days.

Wotsits Crisps.

These are one of my favourite crisps I have always loved Wotsits crisps since I was little. I have always had them to eat since I was younger.

New National Bus Back Better Strategy Buses 2021 / 2022.

These are the new Double Decker National Bus Back Better Strategy Buses that just came out last December last Christmas in December 2021. I see a lot of them out around Whitley Bay and Cullercoats and they seem really good they are the brand new buses that just came out last December just before Christmas.

The One Show.

I love watching The One Show sometimes because I think it is really good and sometimes they have some very interesting people on it and sometimes the show is exciting. The One Show is on BBC One every night at 6.00pm for an hour 6.00pm until 7.00pm Monday to Friday the very first episode of The One Show started on the 14th August 2006 when I was nineteen nearly twenty years old when I was younger.

Daily Politics.

I really enjoy watching Daily Politics Live when it is on the telly I think Daily Politics is very good. I really enjoy watching it at lunch time sometimes and it is really good everytime and it is on BBC2 every Wednesday afternoon at lunch time.

Pointless.

I love watching Pointless sometimes I love watching it at dinner time having my dinner I watch it now and again. I think Alexander Armstrong is very good on it as the presenter he presents the show really well and I think it is a really good show all the time.

The Chase.

I really enjoy watching The Chase sometimes. I love watching it now and again when I am having my dinner I think it is very funny sometimes to and I think Bradley Walsh is so funny on it sometimes and I think the whole game show is very good. The Chase has been on the television since the 29th June 2009 since I was twenty two when I was in my early twenties when I was younger that is when The Chase started.

Red London Double Decker Buses In The 1970,s.

These are the big red buses from London from the 1970,s they are the 70,s buses from London from before I was born. They are big red double decker London buses that used to travel all the way around London in the 70,s and some of them still do sometimes I think and I think they are still some of them that drive around London these days.
