So, Digital Inclusion colleagues, what do we think of Portal by Facebook? If you haven’t seen it, basically it’s a video conferencing kit, which comes in four different forms, the Portal TV, which plugs into your TV and sits on top of the set, the Portal, a 10 inch, Digital Photo frame-like device with video […]

Digital Inclusion means making access to support that impacts many aspects of our day-to-day QoL. We are exploring Health & Social Support apps to understand how they can help our local community to maintain their independence. We want to help people take control over how they use the internet through guidance, mentoring and group facilitation. Based at our Shiremoor accessible IT suite we will be reaching out to our residents who face challenges because of disability or infirmity to help us gauge how these apps make a difference. However, help is holistic, which is why we will give you the skills and confidence to use these internet-based services. To find out more contact office@parkviewproject.org.uk You can also visit our website to find out more about what we do as a community-based organisation representing residents who consider themselves vulnerable. You can also discuss your needs with a member of our team on 01914771667. (We currently operate on a Tuesday & Wednesday between 12.00 noon – 7.00 pm).
We have had the good fortune to be supported by the Natrional Community Lottery for our new work engaging with our local resdients on matters to do with taking control over the internet. We are poised to establsih a number of outreach sessions culminating in a grand event later this year. If you want to contribute to this project get in touch either by leaving a comment or email: office@parkviewproject.org.uk Park View Portal
